Long time no outfit post! To be honest, I’ve been struggling with this blog thing. Working full time and a having a busy personal life doesn’t leave me with much left over for blogging and Instagramming. Not only do I lack the time, but the creative energy and daylight hours.
.
So in trying to come up with a way to reconcile what I love doing (fashion and creating content) with what I actually spend most of my time doing (working), I came up with the idea of creating a blog series around work wear. As much as I love to wear ripped jeans and sneakers on the weekend, 5 days out of 7 I work in a law firm and have to dress fairly corporate. I’ve worked in a few different offices over the last 10 years, and have pretty much narrowed down some failsafe outfits that I can throw together in the morning when I’m just not feeling it (which is most days) but still look reasonably polished.

The silk blouse, trousers and loafers combination is one of my favourites. It requires very little thought, but instantly makes me look put together. I have a great collection of silk shirts in different colours, but white is always my first choice. This blouse by The Fable is the perfect cut and colour. A white shirt is a must-have in anyone’s work wardrobe, it’s just so versatile. I love it with a pair of relaxed wool trousers (like these Everlane ones), but also tucked into a leather pencil skirt, or with a pair of jeans for casual Friday.
