For the October long weekend, BJ and I booked a beach getaway in Newcastle. It was our wedding anniversary (getting married around a long weekend was the best decision!), and it was the perfect excuse to get out of Sydney for a few days and relax by the beach.

We’d found an amazing Airbnb on our last trip in January, and decided we would go there again. We loved it’s homey vibe and the close proximity to the beach (directly across the road).

We were blessed with perfect weather (unlike our wedding day 3 years prior, when it poured!) and we spent a lovely few days lazing on the beach, going out for breakfast, lunch and dinner, going for walks and taking photos. Even though it’s a mere 2 hours from home, it was the perfect getaway.
