There’s nothing like a good stay-cation. Despite working in the city every day and living close to it, it’s always fun to go on a quick getaway and stay in a cute hotel for the night. A few weeks ago hubby and I were guests of Hotel Palisade, an eclectic boutique hotel in Old Sydney Town. The décor is stunning, with a hand-painted marine mural on the wall behind the bed, marble countertops and a beautifully tiled bathroom. Perhaps best of all though, is the balcony with stunning views of the city and the Harbour Bridge.

We were also treated to a meal at Henry Deane, which is on the rooftop of the hotel. It’s the perfect spot for long, leisurely summer lunches, with a view to die for, and the most amazing frose cocktails. If you go, you must try the brussel sprouts (just trust me).
