BLAZE IT

I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to invest in a classic black blazer, especially after working in corporate offices for over a decade.  Throwing a black blazer over my office uniform of slim pants and a cashmere knit, or a midi skirt and top made the outfit feel a little too office-y and stuffy, which I tried to avoid at all costs.  However, after changing careers and now working in a much more laid-back office, I’ve come to realise the chic versatility of a simple, classic black blazer.  Anine Bing is always my first choice when it comes to blazers, and I already loved the fit of my Madeline check blazer, so purchasing the Madeline in black was a no-brainer.  It’s still a little thick and warm to wear just yet (I was absolutely roasting while shooting these images!), but it’s going to be such a staple this autumn/winter.  Dressing up a pair of light wash jeans and a white tee, or throwing it over a slip dress are going to be my favourite ways to wear it.
